Put your hands in green beauty heaven with Peter Lamas Spa Sensuals 2-Part Hand Treatment!

Peter Lamas hand treatment gives your hands a dewy glow! Check out the review below:
Peter Lamas Spa Sensuals 2-Part Hand Treatment

I never really thought about hands "having a glow"; we don't necessarily think about how "old" or "tired" our hands look. We just do with them what needs to be done and our hands will sometimes show fatigue and age, just like our faces. But we don't always think about giving our hands a well-deserved treatment - a "picker-upper", so-to-speak. I recently discovered the Peter Lamas "Spa Sensuals" collection, which includes a divine 2-part hand treatment that consists of a hand scrub and a hand cream. These two products are both made from quality, natural and non-toxic ingredients, that are extremely beneficial to our skin, through their anti-aging, protective, and moisturizing properties. The formulas also smell amazing - a really nice, refreshing, orange-citrus scent!

I was very pleased with the literal glow my hands exerted after giving myself this at-home spa treatment. The scrub is rather heavy-duty! The sea salt crystals that compromise the main "scrub" ingredient definitely exfoliate very well, but without scratching the skin, due to the high level of natural oils also present in the formula. The exfoliation removed dead skin cells, revealing fresh, smooth cells underneath, therefore allowing the hands to exude a youthful glow. The oils present in the scrub also penetrate the skin of the hands directly into the newly exposed fresh skin cells. Once scrubbing is complete and washed off, the wonderfully absorbent and hydrating hand cream is applied to seal in the benefits of the scrub treatment. Both hands and nails look fantastic, fresh and rejuvenated after this amazing treatment.

Gentle scrubbing and massaging is known to increase circulation, which is an aid to anti-aging, so even without being a dermatologist, I'm quite confident that this treatment, if applied somewhat regularly, would in fact be beneficial for long-term age prevention for the hands (which Peter Lamas claims in promoting the product). In either case, even with one use, your hands will feel like you just returned from an expensive manicure at a spa. This is definitely a hand treat worth splurging on!

Bite Beauty gives a vibrant, fuchsia lip via "Palomino" Luminous Crème Lipstick

Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in "Palomino":

Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in "Palomino"

Bite Beauty's Luminous Crème Lipstick in the shade "Palomino" is a gorgeous, super pigmented fuchsia lipstick. As is the case with all of Bite Beauty's lip products, this lipstick is toxin-free, made from natural ingredients, and yet works just as well as the most expensive and most marketed (and most often quite toxic) luxury makeup brands. "Palomino" is a creamy formula that settles into the lips for a lovely, semi-matte appearance. The formula does stain the lips after use - a really beautiful dark pink stain, that can be removed by applying lip balm and gently rubbing it off. Those with very dry lips, may want to apply a matte lip balm underneath this lipstick, as super pigmented lipsticks may be slightly drying for some, although it is important to note that Bite Beauty's lip products are generally considered non-drying by reviewers. I personally like to recommend Beessential lip balms for layering beneath thick lipsticks, since Beessential lip balms are very matte and will not interfere with a lipstick's intended finish.

This lipstick shade came in the Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick Duo in "Vivid", with the gorgeous purple shade “Violet” on the other end of the tube. Check out a review and pictures of "Violet" by clicking on this link. Both shades are also available in a full-sized individual "Luminous Crème" lipstick from Bite Beauty. The lip duos that Bite Beauty offers are really affordable, at $12 each, and they are a great way to try out Bite Beauty's lipstick without forking out $24 for a full-sized tube. The lip duos are also ideal for someone who might not use lipstick too often, but who would like a small portion of pigmented, vivid lipsticks to keep in their makeup bag for those special occasions where a pop of color is in order! Bite Beauty products can be purchased at Sephora.

Silk Naturals' "Bramble" is a toned-down, beautiful splash of purple on your lips!

Silk Naturals Slick Stick in "Bramble":

Silk Naturals Slick Stick in "Bramble"

Enjoying the purple lipstick trend that has continued since last year? I personally adore purple-hued lipsticks and other lip products that have a splash of violet! I wanted to give a shout out to "Bramble", a slick stick formula by the wonderful, indie, all-natural makeup company Silk Naturals. "Bramble" is a toned down version of some of those super pigmented plummy, fuchsia and violet colors that have been in vogue (such as Bite Beauty's lipstick in the color "Violet").

The Silk Naturals "Slick Stick" formula is also one of the most lip-nurturing and moisturizing natural lip products on the market. These slick sticks never dry out the lips and leave them feeling soft and hydrated. The formula of this particular slick stick is really like a creamy lip gloss in a tube. It has great staying power, a build-able, sheer application, and a soft vanilla scent. Check out the photo above - isn't this a lovely alternative to the more typical nude lip?

If you are unfamiliar with Silk Naturals, check out the recommended links below for some more reviews. This company is really one of the more affordable natural cosmetics companies out there. They seem to keep their prices down by using very simple, recyclable packaging for their products. Check out the Silk Naturals website here.

Introducing Beessential Rose & Mint Beeswax Lip Balm!

A buzz-worthy beeswax lip balm: Beessential's Rose & Mint Lip Balm:
Beessential Rose & Mint Beeswax Lip Balm

Beessential is just one of those all-natural brands that never fail to impress. Beessential's lip balms are really effective at protecting the lips and restoring them to their most kiss-worthy state! I have previously raved about some of Beessential’s other lip balms (such as Honey and Lime & Coconut), but I am pleased to add to my list of favorite lip balms (ever!) - Beessential’s newest addition to their lip balm line, the Rose & Mint Lip Balm.

This lip balm has one of my favorite scents: rose, mixed with one of my second-favorite scents – mint (all scents derived from natural sources). I find this to be a very unique scent combination, and quite calming actually. The Rose & Mint balm is just slightly more emollient than the other Beessential lip balms I have tried. I’m not sure if that is because of the different oils in the ingredients for the scent, but I do love the feel of this balm in particular.

Since discovering all of Beessential’s wonderful lip balms, I have been recommending them as a great under-layer for matte or drying lipsticks. The balm will protect the lips from drying, but the finish of the balm is also relatively matte, so it won’t interfere with the finish of the lipstick! That being said, it’s also a great choice for anyone who wants a totally natural look – without too much gleam on their lips from lip balm.

Like all of Beessential’s products, this lip balm has minimal ingredients that are all extremely beneficial for the skin, and always completely non-toxic and non-synthetic. The recommended links below are worth checking out for more articles and reviews of Beessential’s brilliant products!

A sample-size of a super facial scrub: Acure Brightening Facial Scrub

Looking for a clarifying, smoothing, all-natural facial scrub? Acure’s Brightening Facial Scrub is a great treatment for skin, leaving it soft, polished and clean. Organic sea kelp is the exfoliating ingredient, and boy does it work! This stuff definitely feels grittier than a lot of facial scrubs, but it doesn’t scratch the skin or feel uncomfortable – it’s just a super effective skin polisher. Not only that, but this facial scrub is also very effective at reducing red blemish scars, and at preventing further development of oncoming skin irritations. It’s no wonder this facial scrub was a “Healing Lifestyle & Spas” Beauty Award Winner! No need for plastic or other synthetic micro-beads to exfoliate your skin – give Acure a try. It’s better for you and for our planet!

Zion Health Adama Ancient Clay Feet Treat Xtreme

Experience an at-home foot spa with Zion Health's "Feet Treat Xtreme" foot cream:

Zion Health Adama Ancient Clay Feet Treat Xtreme

Zion Health’s Adama Ancient Clay “Feet Treat Xtreme” is a fantastic non-toxic option for a repairing, moisturizing and revitalizing foot treatment. Packed with enriching trace minerals, cinnamon oil, arnica, aloe vera and other fantastic skin-soothing and stimulating ingredients, this foot cream leaves feet feeling soft and light. The formula of this cream applies surprisingly lightly onto the feet. Unlike most foot creams, it’s not heavy and absorbs rather quickly into the skin. Because of this, one might be skeptical about the effectiveness, since most foot creams tend to be thick and stickier. But Zion Health has really blended a fantastic group of ingredients, creating a light foot cream that also smooths the foot’s sometimes callused skin. The formula also leaves a very light tingling sensation on the skin, probably from the cinnamon oil. The highest notes I smell in this cream are cinnamon and arnica, which I find to be a pleasant, earthy smell combination. This is definitely a great natural foot cream choice for anyone with tired callused feet that need a home spa treatment!

Zion Health is an American, San Francisco-based company that produces products that are vegan, paraben free, sulfate free and gluten free. They are a fantastic company to try for anyone eager to switch to less toxic cosmetic options.

Pixi Nail Color in "Oh So Orange" is so neon and awesome!

Bring on the spring and summer with neon nails!
Pixi 3-Free Nail Color in "Oh So Orange"

If neon nails scare you then look away! This review is for those who love a vibrant pop of color, whether it be on the lips, a piece of clothing, or on the nails! Now that the sun is shining nationwide, we need to emphasize the elation of summer's arrival, and display it via bright colors! Well, we don't NEED to, but why not, especially since wearing vibrant colors is proven to reduce depression and elevate emotions of joy?

I was so impressed recently with Pixi's newest addition to their nail color line, "Coral Canteloupe" (click to read that review), that I decided to delve further into Pixi's fantastic color selection and try an even more neon nail color than "Coral Canteloupe". The crazy bright neon orange nail polish shade you see pictured is none other than Pixi's Nail Color in "Oh So Orange". I love the way this shade of nail polish looks on people with darker skin tones, or on lighter skin tones with a bit of a tan going. It's just such a fun color and can always be paired with solid colors to tone the look down a bit, although I can't say I haven't worn this nail color while also wearing my bright neon orange bikini! Perhaps that was overkill... but I liked it!

Pixi's nail colors are a less toxic option for those who are concerned with toxic chemicals in their nail polish. Pixi's nail polishes are labeled 3-free, which means they are free of toluene, formaldehyde and DBP. The formula of this nail polish is easy to apply and only requires two coats for the most pigmented color payoff and a long lasting finish. The formula does apply rather thickly and it is important to note that it begins to dry quickly, so one has to avoid swiping the polish with the brush for too long. Because the formula applies relatively smoothly, this is not a problem once you get used to the feel of this particular polish. The finish of "Oh So Orange" is a semi-matte, and the Pixi nail colors in general feel less "slippery" than many other nail polishes I have tried. It almost has a papery feel to it when rubbed.
